Seminar on Introduction to Cipher Core: a Complete Information and Cyber Security Method

Business Eye Report

Bangladesh endured a significant cyber heist in February 2016, famously known as the Bangladesh Bank cyber heist, culminating in the theft of US$850 million due to a single misspelled instruction. Additionally, on June 27, 2023, the personal information of over 50 million Bangladeshi citizens, including names, addresses, phone numbers, and National ID numbers, was exposed online, marking a profound breach of privacy. This unsettling revelation was officially disclosed on July 8, 2023.
Recognizing the looming threat, the ICT Division embarked on a multinational endeavor to fortify information security comprehensively. During Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's visit to Japan, a series of eight agreements were sealed, featuring a pivotal Memorandum of Cooperation in Information and Communication Technology and Cyber Security. Moreover, in a concerted effort to confront vulnerabilities and counteract information and cyber threats, the National Cyber Security Agency and ICT Division joined forces with Cipher Core Co. Ltd of Japan to orchestrate a seminar titled "Introduction to Cipher Core: a Holistic Information and Cyber Security Approach."
Program Chief Guest Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP emphasized that “ I’m very happy to learn about Complete Cipher technology which is proven unbreakable cryptography, the technology that has been proved to be unbroken even in the age of quantum computing and AI. Most Cipher techniques used in the world right now are based on ‘Computational Security’ and Public or Common Key Systems which have failed to solve the fundamental problem  ‘Man-in-the-Middle-Attack’.
Program Special Guest Ms. Farida Yasmin, MP, mentions that “ Our collaboration with Cipher Core exemplifies the strength of international partnerships and underscores our unwavering commitment to securing our digital future. By harnessing the collective expertise and resources of our esteemed partners, including Japan, we can forge a path towards a safer and more resilient cyberspace for all.
Program Special Guest Mr. RANAJIT KUMAR, Executive Director, Bangladesh Computer Council, ICT Division, and IWAMA Kiminori, Ambassador of Japan to Bangladesh were also present.
said that “The collaboration between Bangladesh and Japan, solidified by
the Memorandum of Cooperation signed in April 2023, underscores our commitment to leveraging technology for the betterment of society. Japan has long been a trusted partner, and our partnership with Cipher Core signifies a step forward in our shared mission to safeguard our
citizens' information and secure cyberspace”.
Program Special Guest H.E. Mr. IWAMA Kiminori, Ambassador of Japan to Bangladesh
highlighted that “By using Complete Cipher, Bangladesh can not only protect its cyberspace
from global threats but also develop its youth to be acquainted with more advanced technology
and use it for the development of the nation”.
