Earthquake felt in Dhaka, various parts of country

A mild earthquake was felt in capital Dhaka and various parts of the country. However, no immediate reports of damage were received.

The quake was felt at around 4:52 pm on Friday.

The European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) said that the magnitude of the tremor was 4 on the Richter scale. The epicenter of the earthquake was about 68 kilometers north of the city of Comilla in Bangladesh and 26 kilometers north of the city of Agartala in India. Its depth was 10 kilometers.

Although the earthquake was short-lived, its impact shook various structures. As a result, panic spread among the general public. Immediately after the earthquake, various types of posts were seen on social media. Many people shared their experiences and advised to stay safe.

Fire service and other emergency service entities are on alert after the earthquake.
