
The month-long Amar Ekushey Book Fair-2025 is going to end today with the sale of a huge number of books and enthusiasm.
as a concluding day, the book fair will remain open for all from 11am to 9:00pm, with the special arrangement of Children's Zone for children from 11am to 1pm.
The theme for this year's book fair is "July Gono Obbhuthyan: Notun Bangladesh Binirman" (The July Uprising: Rebuilding a New Bangladesh").
Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki will attend the closing ceremony where the awards— Poet Jasimuddin Literature Award, Syed Waliullah Literary Award, Chittaranjan Saha Memorial Award 2025, Munir Chowdhury Smriti Purasker ,Rokonuzzaman Khan Dadabhai Smriti Purasker and Qayyum Chowdhury Smriti Award, will be given to winners.
The closing ceremony will begin with a welcome speech by Director General of Bangla Academy Professor Mohammad Azam while Amar Ekushey Book Fair Committee Member Secretary Dr Sarkar Amin will present the report of the event.
A total of 176 new books were released on the Amar Ekushey Book Fair.
A discussion titled ‘Birth of an uprising and the Path to Building Future Bangladesh’ was held on the main stage of the fair at 4:00 PM. The paper was presented by Rezaul Karim Roni, with Syed Nizar joining the discussion and Kazi Maruf in the chair.
Poets Syed Abubakar, Mita Ali, and poet, editor, and children's writer Jamshed Wazed discussed their new books at the ‘Lekhok Bolsi’ mancha.
This year, 1,059 stalls have been allotted to 693 publishing houses and organisations-139 units and a pavilion at the Bangla Academy, while 920 units and 34 pavilions allocated at Suhrawardy Udyan.
