District Assembly of Ansar and Village Defense Force Held in Nilphamari

The district assembly of the Ansar and Village Defense Force was held in Nilphamari under the theme “Peace, Discipline, Development, Security – Everywhere, We Are Present.”

The event was inaugurated on Saturday (February 22) morning at the District Shilpakala Academy auditorium by the Rangpur Range Commander of the Ansar and Village Defense Force, Md. Abdus Samad (BVM, PVMS), who released balloons to mark the occasion.

The assembly was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Nayiruzzaman. Distinguished guests included Civil Surgeon Dr. Md. Hasibur Rahman, Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime & Operations) A.B.M. Fayzul Haque, Joint Director of the National Security Intelligence (NSI) Firoz Kabir Mahmud, and Rangpur District Commandant of the Ansar and Village Defense Force Rashedul Islam (BAMS). The welcome speech was delivered by Nilphamari District Commandant of the Ansar and Village Defense Force, Majharul Islam Bhuiyan (PVM).

Speakers at the event highlighted the crucial role of the Ansar and Village Defense Force in ensuring national security and public welfare. They urged all members to continue performing their duties with dedication, particularly during critical times for the country.

In his keynote address, Chief Guest Rangpur Range Commander Md. Abdus Samad stated, “The Ansar Force plays a vital role in nation-building. Beyond maintaining law and order, their contributions to various development initiatives across the country are invaluable. Even after August 5, when many retreated from their responsibilities, the Ansar Force remained steadfast in their duties.”

Following the assembly, 38 outstanding Ansar members were recognized for their exemplary service with awards, including bicycles, sewing machines, and umbrellas. Additionally, commemorative crests were presented to the honored guests.

The event was attended by Domar Upazila Ansar and VDP Officer Naresh Chandra Roy, Jaldhaka Upazila Ansar and VDP Officer Mausumi Akhter, Sadar Upazila Trainer Md. Rakibul Islam, along with all officers, employees, and members of the Nilphamari District Ansar and Village Defense Force.
