
In the last 24 hours, the police in Narayanganj have arrested 52 individuals through “Operation Devil Hunt” and routine operations. This was confirmed by Additional Superintendent of Police
(ASP) of the District Intelligence Unit, Tarek Al Mehedi, on Wednesday (February 12). According to ASP Tarek Al Mehedi, 12 individuals associated with the Awami League and its affiliated organizations were arrested during the "Devil Hunt" operation. All of them face charges in various anti-discrimination movement cases. Additionally, 40 others were arrested during regular police operations. The arrested individuals have been sent to court.
Those arrested during "Devil Hunt" include Md. Russel (31), a member of Narayanganj Awami League, A. Salam (66), former organizational secretary of Bangabandhu Parishad, Md. Shaheen Sarkar (55), president of Ward 2 Awami League in Bandar Union, Md. Alomgir Hossain Masud (31), vice-president of Ward 7 Awami League in Bandar Union, Md. Jasim Uddin (40), an active Awami League member, Md. Roni Hossain (22), organizational secretary of Ward 6 Chhatra League in Bhulta Union, Based Mia (46), an active Awami League worker, Md. Abdul Alim Sarkar (58), former president of the Rupganj Union Volunteer League, Shahadat Hossain (32) and Md. Sumon (39), active Youth League members, Md. Motaleb Mia (40) and Jahangir Alam Rana (36), active workers of Araihazar Municipality Awami League.
