Former fisheries and livestock minister Abdul Latif Biswas, the former president of Sirajganj district unit Awami League, has been detained.
A team of army personnel raided Latif’s residence at Kamarpara under Belkuchi municipality in Sirajganj on Sunday and apprehended him.
Confirming the matter, Belkuchi police station Inspector (Investigation) Abdul Barek said the details of the detention would be disclosed later.
