In Araihazar, Narayanganj, a member of an inter-district robbery gang named Mukul (45) was killed in another mob beating while preparing for a robbery. The incident took place late Saturday night in the Jogardia area of Mahmudpur Union under Haizadi Union.
A group of robbers had gathered near an irrigation pump to plan a robbery. When the locals noticed suspicious activity, 400-500 people from the surrounding areas mobilized and surrounded the gang. While 7-8 robbers managed to escape, Mukul was caught by the residents.
An enraged mob then attacked Mukul, leading to his death on the spot. Police arrived at the scene and sent the body to Narayanganj Victoria Hospital morgue. Mukul was identified as the son of deceased Kabil from Jogardia.
Earlier, On the night of Thursday, December 26, in Kahindi village of Haizadi Union, a man named Billal, who was preparing for a robbery, was beaten to death by a mob. During the incident, a female member of the robbery gang was also injured by the mob. The woman later claimed to be a sex worker.
Confirming the incident, Araihazar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Enayet Hossain stated that Mukul had several cases against him, including murder and robbery, in Araihazar and other areas.
