A new executive committee of Jagannath University Chittagong Hill Tracts Students Forum (CHTSF) has been formed. Mohammad Nabil Sadiq, a student of the 2019-20 session of the Department of Law, has been elected as the president and Md. Jahirul Islam, a student of the 2020-21 session of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, has been elected as the general secretary.
The committee was announced on Sunday (December 15) through a notification signed by Rafiqul Islam, the president of the central committee of CHTSF, and Zakir Hossain Shahin, the general secretary.
The other members of this committee, consisting of students studying at Jagannath University from the three hill districts of Rangamati, Khagrachari, and Bandarban, are-
Nabila Ijma, a student of the 2019-20 session of the department of Law, and Main Uddin, a student of the 2019-20 session of the same department, have been elected as the Vice Presidents. Bijoya Majumder, a student of the 2020-21 session of the Law Department, has been elected as the Joint General Secretary.
In addition, FH Fahim, a student of the 2022-23 session of the Chemistry Department, has been elected as the Organizing Secretary, Faruk Hossain Jisan, a student of the 2022-23 session of the Philosophy Department, has been elected as the Office Secretary, Nadim, a student of the 2022-23 session of the History Department, has been elected as the Publicity-Publication and Media Affairs Secretary, and Mohiuddin Bandhu, a student of the 2020-21 session of the Theater Department, has been elected as the SDG and Skill Development Affairs Secretary.
Mohammad Nabil Sadiq, the newly elected president of Jagannath University Chittagong Hill Tracts Students Forum (CHTSF), said, "We, the CHTSF, are working with the goal of building an enlightened hill through the development of all the backward religious and caste students of the Hill Region. I am committed to ensuring an inclusive and balanced environment for all.
I believe that it is necessary to take equal care of every student of the Chittagong Hill Tracts without any discrimination based on a specific region. To this end, I and my team are always ready to provide maximum support for their education and overall development."
The newly elected committee general secretary, Md. Jahirul Islam, said, "We, the students living in the hill regions, are comparatively much behind in higher education. Our CHTSF is working to expand higher education in the hills and develop education in the hills. We, the CHTSF of Jagannath University, are working to spread education awareness and higher education in the hills and provide overall support to the students of the hill regions who are admitted to the university, and we will continue to do so in the future, God willing."
It is worth mentioning that the Chittagong Hill Tracts Students Forum works for the overall welfare of students coming from Rangamati, Khagrachari, Bandarban to pursue higher education, including education, culture, leadership development and student development. It is also a student organization known for playing an effective role in social cooperative activities.
