Environment, Forest and Climate Change Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan said that even in 53 years, elected political parties have not been able to reform the state. That is why the interim government had to take up the reform work.
She said this at a program to raise awareness about noise pollution control and re-train drivers in Gulshan on Friday morning.
She said that the rules on noise pollution will be finalized and published within this month.
Syeda Rizwana Hasan said that 10 silent areas will be declared by next month after conducting an awareness campaign. Sending someone to jail for honking is not the solution. We have to change ourselves to find a solution. Just as reducing the speed of a vehicle reduces the risk of accidents; there is no need to honk. Public suffering may be reduced to some extent, but it is not possible to control air quality very quickly.
She also said that the Department of Environment will cooperate with every society in the capital to train drivers. The work of traffic police is also becoming difficult due to noise pollution.
The adviser said that the chief adviser will announce when the elections will be held.
