The United Kingdom (UK)-based education and research organization published the list of the world's best sustainable universities titled "QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2025" for the third time on December 10.
In this ranking, by submitting data for the first time, Rajshahi University (RU) is ranked third in the country and between 1081-1100 in the global ranking.
In the ranking, the overall value of the university has been determined in three indicators. The total score is 100 for all indicators. The overall score is determined based on the average of the sum of all indicators. Among the three indicators, environmental impact is 45%, social impact is 45% and governance impact is 10%.
In this QS ranking, 15 universities of Bangladesh have been ranked. Dhaka University is at the top of the ranking from Bangladesh by getting 634th place. Daffodil International University is ranked 690th and is second. In this list, Chittagong University is 1101-1120, and North South University is between 1141-1160.
Then East West University and Jahangirnagar University are located 1301-1350, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University and Bangladesh Agricultural University are located 1351-1400, American International University, BRAC University and Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) are located 1401-1450, and Independent University Bangladesh, Khulna University and Shahjalal University of Science and Technology are located more than 1500 serial. This time the exact position of these universities has not been revealed.
About this matter, the director of the University's Office of International Affairs, Professor Muhammad Sajjadur Rahim said, "We submitted data last year, for the first time, to get a place in this ranking. Therefore, the name of Rajshahi University has appeared in this year's list. Hopefully we will do better in the coming years.
