Dilip Agarwala arrested

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Tuesday night arrested Diamond World Managing Director and controversial businessman Dilip Kumar Agarwala.

Earlier, the elite force launched a drive at the Diamond World in the capital’s Gulshan-1, cordoning off the office building to nab Agarwala around 10pm.

During the operation, RAB members scrutinised papers and searched other documents of the business entity which is accused of laundering money abroad.

Meanwhile, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police launched an investigation into allegations of money laundering against the controversial businessman and other stakeholders related to the Diamond World.

Confirming the matter on Tuesday afternoon, CID’s Superintendent of Police (Media) Azad Rahman told the Daily Business Eye that the department’s financial crime unit initiated the probe into various allegations surfaced against Agarwala.
