A senior ICT journalist Imdadul Haque allegedly attacked by Hi-Tech Park officials of ICT Division during taking footage and collecting news on office premises on Thursday.
He is the executive editor of online news portal DigiBangla and executive member of Bangladesh ICT Journalists Forum (BIJF).
Imdad blamed that a group of office assistants led by Accountant Mosharraf Hossain Parvez and Office Assistant Md. Salim Mahmud attacked to beat him. Seeing the dire situation, Imdad went to MD's room to take shelter.
Meanwhile, other Hi-Tech Park officials rushed and attacked Imdad again in the second phase led by the leader of the movement Sharmili Khatun, encouraged other officials and employees to attack.
ICT Secretary Samsul Arefin told the Business Eye that the Hi-Teck Park Managing Director G S M Jafarullah has been has been tasked to look into the matter and take action.
The authority will take action within Sunday, BIJF president Naznin Nahar told the Business Eye.
Meanwhile, President of Bangladesh Mobile Phone Consumers Association Mohiuddin Ahmed strongly condemned this attack.
He demanded trial and justice.
