Member of Parliament for Brahmanbaria-1 (Nasirnagar) constituency and boat candidate Badruddozza Md. Awami League leader Roma Akhter has been mourned for threatening Farhad Hossain struggle. On Saturday (Brahmanbaria-1 Parliamentary Constituency Election Inquiry Committee Chairman and Senior Assistant Judge Mohammad Rezaul Haque expressed grief over this.
The inquiry committee's letter stated that Roma Akhter's statement appeared to the committee to be a clear violation of Article 77 (1) of the Representation of the People Order, 1972 and Rule 11 of the Rules of Conduct of Political Parties and Candidates in Parliamentary Elections, 2008.
Earlier on December 27, the threat was issued from the election meeting organized in support of independent candidate Syed AK Ekramuzzaman at Nasirnagar upazila headquarters. Ekramuzzaman was present in the meeting. Roma Akter is the wife of Nazir Mia, vice president of Upazila Awami League and central leader of Krishak League.
At that time, Roma Akhter said, 'We people of Nasirnagar are simple people. I don't want riots. The imprisonment of our leaders is our disgrace. Appeal to you to take away the rights by voting. He (Badruddozza Md. Farhad Hossain Sangram) is condemned for the insult he has done. Strongly condemn. He harassed the freedom fighter's family. He has come to Nasirnagar to erase the names of senior leaders. Hey deleting name is not that easy. It is not a name written on paper. The name written in human heart cannot be erased. But why your name, after seven dates we will not let you set foot on the soil of Nasirnagar.'
