Due to repeated clashes between Dhaka College and City College students in the Science Lab area, City College has announced a closure of classes on tomorrow (Thursday).
A notice was posted on the City College website on Wednesday night.
The notice, signed by Acting Principal Professor Kazi Neyamul Haque, said: "Due to unavoidable circumstances, all classes will remain closed on Thursday.
Earlier, after the clashes, the Dhaka College Teachers’ Council announced a 9-point demand, including the removal of City College from the Science Lab area.
It is worth noting that after a few days of closure due to student protests, City College resumed classes on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, students of Dhaka College protested on Wednesday demanding the resignation of teachers who supported the dictatorship.
Around noon, some students from Dhaka College vandalized a bus in the Science Lab area.
This incident led to an argument, which eventually escalated into a clash between the students of City College and Dhaka College.
Upon receiving the news, army and police forces arrived at the scene to control the situation.
At one point, they used tear gas shells and sound grenades to stop the clash.
