Despite ongoing economic challenges in the country, Sonali Life Insurance, one of Bangladesh's leading life insurance companies, has maintained its commitment to settling customer insurance claims within seven days.
In 2024, the company achieved an impressive growth of over 206% in insurance claim payments compared to the previous year.
According to company officials, Sonali Life disbursed over Tk 380 crore in insurance claims during the 2024 calendar year, a significant increase from the Tk 124 crore paid in 2023.
In December 2024 alone, the company paid claims amounting to Tk 69.37 crore, including death insurance, maturity benefits, associate insurance, and expected benefits.
As per IDRA's November data, six insurance companies achieved claim settlement rates between 99% and 100%, with Sonali Life reaching a settlement rate of 99.11%. Among these companies, Sonali Life led in the total value of claims settled, amounting to Tk 380 crore.
In July 2024, Noor-e-Alam from Bhola's Char Fashion passed away suddenly. His wife, Bibi Jannat, says, ‘Sonali Life paid an insurance claim of Tk 1.71 lakh within just three days.’
In June 2024, Delwar Hossain from Lakshmipur passed away, leaving behind three children with education insurance policies under Sonali Life. His wife, Taslima Akhtar, expressed her gratitude, saying, "In just five days, Sonali representatives explained everything to us.
Each of my children now receives Tk 3,330 as a monthly scholarship allowance for ten years. At the end of the term, we will receive the full policy amount along with bonuses, without having to pay any further premiums."
Sheikh Md Daniel, Director of Sonali Life Insurance while highlighting the company's efficiency and dedication, says: ‘Our claim settlement has always been our priority, as it was our vision to be the leader in claim settlement of the life insurance sector, and has been possible due to transparency, utilisation of IT and highly effective management practices.’
