Gold price jumps by Tk1,994 per bhori

The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) has announced an increase in gold prices after three consecutive reductions.

The price of 22-carat gold has risen by Tk1,994 per bhori, setting the new price at Tk139,443 per bhori.

This adjustment was detailed in a press release issued on Thursday by Bajus Price Determination and Monitoring Committee Chairman Masudur Rahman.

According to Bajus, the increase is due to a rise in the price of raw gold in the local market.

The new rates will take effect on Friday.

Earlier on Tuesday, after three price cuts, gold prices were hiked by Tk2,939 per bhori, setting the price of 22-carat gold at Tk137,449 per bhori.
