The government has lost Tk 720 crore due to import of two lakh metric tons of fertilizer in excess of demand. Even the whereabouts of that fertilizer do not match. In this case, the complaint of commission trade has been raised against Abdullah Sajjad, chairman of Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC). In the recent anti-discrimination student movement, this chairman of BADC, who has been criticized by the students, is still in force.

Last financial year, BADC imported 8 lakh metric tons of burette of potash or MOB using sir gtu method. There is a complaint that the transport contractors have not yet paid the estimated two lakh metric tons of that fertilizer at a high price. Due to bringing these fertilizers in excess of demand, the government has incurred a loss of Tk 720 crore at the current market price. Because at that time the market price of these fertilizers was 650 dollars per metric ton but now it is 200 to 320 dollars. At the same time TSP and TAP sir have been brought more than required. It is said that despite the dollar crisis, chairman Abdullah Sajjad does these things for his own interests. But even if fertilizer is needed now, he has no initiative to bring it to trouble the government.

Allegation against Abdullah Sajjad, Chairman of Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) Abdullah Sajjad, who came to the streets to discuss against the students and crowd to prevent the fall of Sheikh Hasina government, has changed the vole and is desperate to dress pro-BNP. This has caused widespread anger and dissatisfaction among BNDC officials and employees who have been cornered for a long and a half century.

According to the complaint, after the fall of the Hasina government, within three-four days of the formation of the interim government, the chairman of the organization transferred 33 officers and employees of BADC and appointed the person of his choice.

According to those concerned, such transfer-appointment before receiving the instructions of the adviser in charge of the Ministry of Agriculture of the interim government is a big trick. In addition, Abdullah Sajjad is now desperate to dress pro-BNP by managing a few pro-BNP officials and employees to maintain the chair through them and escape from the punishment of major corruption-irregularities.

According to various sources, Abdullah Sajjad sat on the chair of the Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture (Seeds) Division after being promoted to the position of Additional Secretary after being the Deputy Secretary of Health, Education and Family Welfare Department of the autocratic government. He confirmed himself as an Awami League member while in charge there and was appointed as the important BADC chairman of the agricultural sector in early January 2023. However, in a few days, apart from irregularities, corruption and nepotism, officials and employees of different parties were cornered to please the then Minister of Agriculture. BADC Chairman Abdullah Sazza gained the favor of the fallen government in a short time.

When the anti-discrimination movement started in July, this government official became the talk of the town against the students himself. BADS Chairman Abdullah Sajjad, BADS Chairman Abdullah Sajjad, Contractual Appointed Direct (Seed) Mostafizur Rahman, GM (Seed) Abir Hossain, GM (Jut Seed) Devdas Sah took part in a peace rally and march on Manik Mia Avenue on behalf of the dictatorial government on August 4. , several officials including GM (Sir) Azim Uddin held a pro-dictatorship peace rally against the anti-discrimination student movement at Manik Mia Avenue. There is a lot of discussion about this issue. However, when the government of Radin Sheikh Hasina fell, he immediately became pro-BNP and retained his influence and prestige as before.

In this context, TIB executive director Dr. Iftekharuzzaman said, opposing this movement means that he has violated the constitution.

He also said that a class of dishonest people have embezzled fertilizer. They were no longer winded. BADC cannot avoid liability. It is also related to irregularity.

On the one hand, the import of additional fertilizer and on the other hand, five to seven unskilled and inexperienced contractors have been enlisted in return for commission in the transportation of that fertilizer. There are still accusations of bribery and nepotism against him.
