LGED inaugurates training for four key projects

On Sunday, September 8, the seminar room of RDEC Bhawan at LGED headquarters was abuzz with the inauguration of a comprehensive training program led by Gopal Krishna Debnath, Additional Chief Engineer of the Directorate of Local Government Engineering (LGED). This training marks the beginning of skill development for four critical projects, including the Climate Resilient Local Infrastructure Center (CRILIC).

The training sessions are designed to cover a range of vital skills, including: Five-day Training on Total Station, Four-day Financial Management Training, Five-day Quality Control Training. Five-day Rapid Climate Impact Assessment Training, Three-day Contract Management Monitoring, including e-CMS Training.

During the inauguration, Gopal Krishna Debnath emphasized the importance of focused participation in the training programs. He stressed the collective responsibility to ensure the judicious use of government resources and time. "Our goal is to effectively design and implement infrastructure projects such as rural roads, bridges, culverts, multi-purpose disaster shelters, and school buildings while mitigating the adverse effects of climate change," Debnath noted. He also called for contributions towards enhancing the working environment and safeguarding women's rights.

The event saw the presence of several key figures, including: Additional Chief Engineer Abdur Rashid Mia, who oversees the Human Resource Development Quality Control and Environment Unit

  • Nazrul Islam, Supervising Engineer for Procurement
  • Md. Belal Hossain, Supervising Engineer for Administration
  • Mullah Mizanur Rahman, Supervising Engineer for the Program for Supporting Rural Bridge
  • Md. Golam Azam, Supervising Engineer
  • Sheikh Md. Abu Zakir Sekandar, Project Director
  • Md. Abdul Khalek, Project Director of Cream-Krilik
  • Dr. Dunn Boom, Team Leader of IDC Krilik

Additionally, project-related officials and consultants attended the inauguration, which was conducted by Md. Shafiqul Islam, Executive Engineer of the LGED Training Unit. This training initiative aims to enhance the capacity of LGED personnel in managing and executing projects effectively, aligning with the broader goals of sustainable development and climate resilience.
